Atmospheric living with a spectacular lighting plan
The power of lighting in interior design is often underestimated. In fact, a lighting plan is a very essential component in interior design. First of all, it provides visibility in the evening hours. In addition, lighting plays in an important role in the atmosphere and appearance you want to give an interior. Choosing the right types of lighting and fixtures results in an atmospheric home.
How do you create a harmonious lighting plan?
A good lighting plan consists of three types of lighting, namely: basic lighting, decorative lighting and accent lighting.
Basic lighting
The design of a lighting plan begins with the choice of basic home lighting. This lighting forms the foundation of the home and cannot be missed. You cannot function properly without this basic lighting. Examples of this type of lighting are ceiling lights, ceiling spotlights and lamps above the dining room table. It is the lighting that allows you to directly illuminate a room. Based on the size of the room, you determine what the right lighting should be. If you need to provide a small room with basic lighting then a ceiling lamp will suffice. If the space is a bit larger then ceiling spotlights are often used.
Decorative lighting
AFTER basic lighting, comes decorative lighting. This is lighting that can bring a certain atmosphere to a room. If your home is modern and sleek then ceiling spotlights can enhance this atmosphere. Do not want to create a modern, but cozy look? Then candlelight combined with dim sconces is a good solution. The fixtures are also important to set the right atmosphere. Look for a fixture family. Fixtures that match well with each other, but are not exactly the same. This will create a unique and correct lighting plan.
Accent lighting
The name says it all; lighting to add an accent. Accent lighting can give items in a living space that extra bit of attention, such as special works of art or sculptures.
Shining eye catcher
inside
An interior is often distinguished by the use of a unique fabric on the sofa or by an exclusive kitchen. But lighting can also distinguish an interior. A robust pendant lamp in the hall or an elegant table lamp on the sideboard. All are eye-catchers that make the interior distinctive. Like a painting or sculpture, lighting can be used as high-quality art. When choosing the right lighting, the right light color and light tone should also be considered. By choosing a bluer shade, you create a slightly cooler atmosphere. And vice versa, choosing an orange shade of light creates a warmer atmosphere. A shade in between is often chosen.
